Sunday Morning Link Love ~ Too Close to Call
The final round of the March Madness competition for best personal finance post of last year is still going on at Free Money Finance, and my post is in a practically dead heat with Being Frugal’s entry. If you haven’t voted, consider stopping by and throwing a vote in for snowflake.
The prizes go to charity, and my charity is The Make a Wish Foundation. And you might win $50 just for voting in the form of a Smarty Pig gift card from Free Money Finance!
On that note, here are some of the enlightening articles I read this part week in the personal finance world:
- My Two Dollars: Book Giveaway - The Quiet Millionaire
- I really want to read this book, I have been trying to win it on different sites for months!
- Gather Little By Little: Should You Discuss Finances With Your Children?
- I have some strong opinions about this based on my own past. What’s your take?
- Blueprint for Financial Prosperity: Act Your Age (Financially)
- Do you want to skip right to the end result or do you go through stages in an orderly fashion?
- My SuperCharged Life: Snowflaking Will Melt Your Debt and More!
- Yes! Snowflaking rules! And it is spreading.

- Cash Money Life: 15 Ways To Save Money on Your Cell Phone Bill
- From limitless minutes to prepaid options, if the cell is costing you big, read this.
- No Credit Needed: Paying Bills vs Money Management - The Difference Between Surviving and Thriving
- This is just a great post that really thinks about what does it mean to just get by versus do well. We are slowly making the transition.
- Single Guy Money: Not Renewing My Costco Card
- Costco can save lots, but know when it isn’t good for you. If I had a Costco anywhere near me maybe I could find out…
- Remodeling This Life: Is Human Behavior Consistent Over Time?
- Can we be predicted via statistical models? Sadly, I am more of a pessimist than Emily and I think that for the population as a whole, it is largely true (not for individuals, but as a group). But I hope I am wrong!
- The Dough Roller: Should $15,000 Be Invested in P2P Lending or a Better Mortgage?
- My answer is easy… mortgage… but read this to find out what DR thinks.
- Free Money Finance: Eight Personal Finance Subjects Schools Should Teach
- Would the economy be better off if more of us knew something about personal finance before the school of hard knocks taught us?
- Antishay Ventenne: A Breakdown of the Credit Card Debate
- No matter where you stand, this is a great read on why there is such a debate and points to consider for yourself.

Why thank you for the mention. I have some thought provoking responses. I have had to reassess my original thought that while people can change behaviors, I think that the root of who we are pretty much stays the same and we often get caught in a web of transferring from one thing to another. I was happy to receive other people’s ideas on the subject. Yes, I am an optimist! LOL!

Thanks for the mention.
I admit I haven’t voted yet. I can’t decide which article to vote for. The good news is there is money for both charities, so everyone is a winner!
