I’ve Paid For This Twice Already…

Sunday Morning Link Love - Carnival Edition

Between being on vacation all last week and then all the car drama taking up my posting energy, I haven’t done my usual review of the carnivals I entered and highlighted posts I particularly enjoyed from them. So I thought I would use my link love post to do that this week. I’m still not anywhere near caught up on my feed reader from when I was gone, so next week’s link love post will probably have posts from the past few weeks I particularly liked. On to the carnivals!

I was on vacation all last week and got back too late to enter most of the carnivals, but I did enter two carnivals and a festival. First, the Festival of Frugality was at fellow M-Network member Moolanomy and my entry Are You an Overbuyer or Underbuyer and What Do You Plan to Do About It? was an editor’s pick! I can only take credit for entering it, the post was a guest post written by Mrs. Micah. Great job Mrs. Micah! Some other posts I enjoyed were:

• Brip Blap: Spend Less That You Earn - The Wrong Way To Think. When I read the title I about fell off my chair. But the post itself was very good and was mostly about ways to increase income. I still think ways to reduce expenses are more important than people sometimes realize, but I liked the income-generating ideas.
• Millionaire Money Habits: Can You Break This Debit Card For A Dollar? This is exactly how I operate. A debit card keeps me from buying little things that are so easy to buy with cash, and helps me save up money to snowflake.

The Carnival of Money Stories had its One Year Anniversary at Money Walks. Congrats! My submission, Why Credit Cards Are Not My Friends, a guest post by Remodeling This Life, was included. I also enjoyed these stories:

• Gather Little By Little: Christmas Dilemma: One Expensive Gift or Multiple Inexpensive Gifts? I have this dilemma with my kids a lot in my own head.
• Me Vs. Debt: Tales From The Transferred Balances. This is a really creative (and useful) illustration of when balance transfers are a good idea and when they are not.

The Carnival of Financial Goals had its second edition at Being Frugal, another fellow M-Network member, and my post Debt Reduction Goals For 2008 was included. Even though we’ve had quite a setback, I am still aiming to meet the goals I set in that post for 2008. It’ll just be harder now than I originally anticipated. While reading through all the goals, these particularly caught my eye:

• The Digerati Life: Financial Goals and Resolutions for 2008. They’re mighty ambitious and inspiring!
• Cash Money Life: Net Worth Goals For 2008. I think he can do it!
