Carnivals Carnivals with a Festival Thrown in For Fun

Exciting stuff here on a Wednesday almost afternoon - six carnivals and a festival that I submitted posts to went live in the past few days! Here they are in no particular order with a link to the post I submitted as well as a link to the carnival/festival itself and one of the posts from each I particularly liked. Make sure you visit the carnivals/festival yourself and find your own favorites! Feel free to come back and share them in the comments, I might have missed a real gem somewhere :).

The Carnival of Money Stories is at Being Frugal and it is… the International Phone Dictionary Day Edition? Apparently it was International Phone Dictionary Day. Okay then… hee hee. My post Sometimes Inexpensive Really Means Cheap was included, and I also enjoyed this money story:

• Free From Broke: Loose Change Gets Us Free Meals On Vacation. What a nifty way to save up for some nice meals on vacation! I barely use cash though so my change jar would be just about empty.

The All Women Blogging Carnival is at Red Sultana and my article, A Target Shopping Strategy That Worked, made the cut. This one could have been applicable to me if I’d chosen another path:

• Living the Scientific Life: Are Family Responsibilities Holding Back Female Scientists? I decided I didn’t want to pursue a career in academia before I decided to have a family, but I know my family would still have come first. This gave me a lot to think about in regards to that.

The Carnival of Personal Finance made its way to Million Dollar Journey and my post A Pile of Receipts: Where I was and how Far I’ve Come was part of the Money Management section. I love board games, so this post was really great to me:

• Blueprint for Financial Prosperity: Scrabble & Personal Finance: 8 Lessons from Tiles I love scabble and this has a lot of good things you can learn from it :).

The Festival of Frugality turns 100! at Frugal for Life and my post Part 2: Adapting to a More Consciously Frugal Lifestyle was a part of it. I’ve linked this next post before but it one of my favorites from recent times so i can’t help but bring it up again:

• Cheap Healthy Good: Defending the Devil: The Semi-Cheap, Kind-of-Healthy Goodness of Rachael Ray. I love Rachael Ray. I hate Rachael Ray. It’s complicated. Heh.

The Carnival of Debt Reduction is at No Credit Needed and it is in a nifty question and answer format. My post Change is in the Air is included and I thought about this post a lot:

• How I Will Be Rich: Pay Off My Debt or Don’t and Save the Difference? Honestly, I don’t always know what makes the most financial sense. I do however know that debt drives me crazy. I don’t have $10,000 to decide what to do with though ;).

Carnival of Observations on Life is at Anja Merret and my article, Don’t Be The Couple In The Parking Lot At WalMart, was included as well! This observation made me think:

• The Next 45 Years: 10 Things I Wish I’d Never Learned. What ten things do you wish you’d never learned?

Finally, the Carnival of Family Life is at All Rileyed Up and my post My Bargain Shopping Successes was included! I enjoyed:

• My Wealth Builder: Personal Finance Lessons For Our Daughter. I’ve been thinking a lot lately about how to teach my son good money management skills too.

Whew! I must like carnivals :). That is it for this week, a mini-carnival in itself. I think I will call it a Festivus.
