Pre-travelling Groceries

As I settle in for a quiet night with my beloved Red Sox, I must relay the grocery adventure that was today.  It actually wasn’t much of an adventure, because I didn’t stray from my list, and I didn’t spend a whole lot of money.  I did touch the box for the 19″ monitor again.  Just once.

My goal was to only spend $50 this week, because we are going out of town Tuesday - Saturday.  I did have to buy snacks for the car ride in addition to groceries, but less perishable items because we won’t be here to eat them.  I didn’t hit that target, but I did come in well under my usual $100/week, spending $60.74, $43.32 at Aldi and $17.42 at Walmart.

As I said, I didn’t buy anything I wasn’t planning on buying before I started shopping.  Maybe because today was a busy day, maybe because I set such a low goal, maybe because it has been such a money-bleeding month already… who knows.  Makes for good shopping but a boring post.  I didn’t even buy any bulk items so I can start my whole bulk buying project.   I shall label today a boring success.  :)

  1. Sox fan too…right now it is still 6-6 and going into extra innings. This is painful!

    *sigh*
PaidTwice was smart and went to bed and didn’t have to watch that.

  4. Would you believe I fell asleep right as Gagne was coming out to start pitching at the beginning of the 11th?

And I thought to myself “He did a good job in game 1, he’s sure to tonight too…. 1am… sleepy…zzzz”

I was wrong but at least I was spared from seeing it. lol
