Sunday Morning Link Love 9/16/07
Welcome to this week’s Sunday Morning Link Love, post-yard sale edition. More on the yard sale later today.
- My favorite post of the week is from Gather Little by Little: How to Save Money by Increasing Your Expenses. Such a clever way to look at budgeting and prioritizing. I might be able to trick myself into being less of a consumer even.
Other posts I particularly enjoyed from the M-Network and beyond this week:
- The Dough Roller: Nifty Tricks with the Rule of 72, 71, 70, 69.3, 114, 144, and my Favorites, 1.5 and 1,080,000. Seriously dude. My head still hurts and I read this on Monday. It is great stuff though. Just um… be prepared to read it about 17 times.
- Moolanomy: Top 10 Resources to Build a Better Blog. Some of these I’ve read, some I haven’t, but it gave me lots to think about. I don’t know how much I can put into action without blogging becoming a career but I am always looking for ways to make readers happy.
- Plonkee Money: Budgeting for Irregular Expenses. Bravo! I hope to eventually become this organized.
- Single Guy Money: PF Goals. I love those goal setting exercises and he’s got a clear idea of what he’s trying to accomplish.
- Being Frugal: Clearance Shopping at Target. Nooooooo do not tempt me to go there!
- Christian Personal Finance: Are you a risk taker? This is all about managing and balancing risk and was a great read for me, who waffles a lot between feeling risky and feeling conservative. Manage that risk!
- Money Smart Life: Do Your Routines Create Wealth and Happiness? This is a great post analyzing if routines are good or bad things. The verdict? Sometimes both. Check out the post to understand why.
- A Penny Closer: Give Up TiVo? Are You Serious? I don’t have TiVo myself, but I can totally relate to not sacrificing some things in the name of reducing debt. We all have to find what works for us, even if it means keeping cable TV.
- Blueprint to Financial Prosperity: Having a Goal Helps you to be Frugal. This is a great article about how to find motivation for frugality: Rewards. We love rewards.
- The Sun’s Financial Diary: Nest Egg Index. I learned where people save, and where they don’t. And I found out that my personal nest egg score is not great (642) but at least it is at the very top end of the “fair” category. Way better than I did on the Pudding Index…
And on another note, this week marked the 6th anniversary of 9/11. I blogged about it from my bystander perspective, but Brip Blap was there in NYC that day, and blogged this past Tuesday about his experience. Thank you.
That’s my roundup! Hope you find something interesting or thoughtful browsing through these, I sure did!
