Guest Post at Moneyning and some Carnival Roundups
Today I have a guest post over at Moneyning who is out of the country for a week about how if you’re in debt, Debt is All Around You. It was inspired by a debt consolidation loan commercial. Check out his blog and my post too!
The two big finance carnivals also posted today! At the Carnival of Personal Finance, hosted by KMull, my post about Giving Yourself a Payday Advance - Have an Emergency Fund was included! Other posts I particularly enjoyed included:
- Make Your Nut ponders, Am I subprime? No! And we aren’t either. Although we did 100% financing (*gasp*) we knew what we were doing and we got a very competitive interest rate, no subprime lender stuff at all. Would I do it again? Maybe not but I’m good with it. I am looking forward to getting rid of the PMI though. (Ours is straight 100% not an 80/20)
- I enjoyed investments dance like Elaine from Seinfeld? from Dough Roller because it made me laugh out loud thinking about Elaine’s crazy dancing. I am totally clueless about investing so I bookmarked it to re-read when I understand more basic terminology. But the metaphors were clearly explained and easy to follow.
- Blunt Money talks about being nervous about using credit cards in The Danger Zone? I know this is how I will feel in the future too if I go back to them. If. Ugh.
The Carnival of Debt Reduction (Digging Out Edition), which, if I may be biased, is my very favorite because the topic is so near and dear to my heart, also went live today at The Happy Rock. My post asking What’s Your Tipping Point? was included along with a ton of other helpful and insightful and personal articles. My picks include:
- How I Got Out Of Credit Card Debt at the Rather-Be-Shopping.com Blog. It gives really solid tips on focusing on getting rid of that debt.
- Best Credit Card Balance Transfer Offers For Debt Reduction at Ask Mr Credit Card’s Blog. Since I *just* did this (more on that Wednesday) I found this post really solid in terms of warnings and caveats. I used a different card but it might not be offering the 0% no BT fee any longer to new applicants.
Those are my picks! Be sure to check out my guest post as well as the Carnivals!!
