I write dirty
And that’s a good thing.
Gather Little By Little wrote a post about one of his favorite blogs, Skelliewag.org. I went to check it out, and one of her links on her sidebar is 101 Essential Blogging Skills. I clicked through to read it, and that’s where I discovered that I write dirty, and that’s a good thing.
Writing dirty, as I see it, is not the same as talking dirty. It means writing with humanity. It means encouraging readers to unwrap words and get at their source: the author, the person.
My whole purpose is to write about what goes on in my head. Nothing I write is clean and factual and untouched by my personal experience. And I was excited to find out I have one of the 101 essential blogging skills down pat.
Now to work on the other 100….
Skellie gained a new subscriber in me, her whole blog is fascinating. Check it out!
