It doesn’t hurt to ask, even if it was your screwup

So a few weeks ago I was cleaning out my glove box in my car, and I came across a check for surveys I had done for Your2Cents that I had never cashed. Ack! It was from March (I was much less organized in March, about money at least) and it said clearly on the check “Void after 90 days”. Being that it was August at this point, 90 days had clearly come and gone.

I was sad. Very…. very…. sad. The check was only for $9.00 but still…. $9.00. That represents a lot of survey time! Ugh.

I was cranky at myself for a day or two over my stupidity. Then I got a new survey invite from them. After completing the new survey I started nosing around the site looking for a way to request a new check if one is lost. I didn’t see one, but I did notice that if they send your check and it gets returned to them because the address is outdated, they will issue you a new one to your new address.

So I sent them an email explaining my stupidity, offering to return the check to them, and asking for a new check to be issued, minus any fees they charge for that sort of thing. I didn’t hear back, so after a few days I just chalked it up as $9.00 lost to my lack of organizational skills, and tried to move on in my head. I didn’t quite move on because well, I obsess about things like this, but I did try. Sometime I’ll tell you about the time my son hid two survey checks under a bookcase and how many times I tore the house apart looking for them. I did find those in time to deposit them though ;).

Yesterday, I got a check in the mail from them for $9.00. I looked at my account on their website, and they reissued my March check, no questions asked.

I don’t think I have ever been happier about $9.00.

By the way, I don’t get a referral bonus or anything like that if you want to sign up with them to take surveys. I’m seriously pleased with how well I was treated and would recommend them to anyone. I do love getting paid to take surveys.

  1. It’s great to hear about a survey site being so thoughtful! I would have thought they would have just written you off…Congrats on the $9!

  2. That’s great that they reissued you a check. Thanks for the link to their site. I signed up with them now. It’s hard to find legitimate suvery sites that actually pay cash. I need all the cash I can get.

  3. Thanks for posting about your2cents I signed up yesterday.

  4. I was amazed they issued me a check too. They are now my favorite lol. Well except MySurvey which will always be my favorite.

(Anyone who wants a referral to MySurvey email me or use my contact form to send me a message and I will email you an invite, you’ll get 150 points for signing up, which is $1.50 when you get enough points to cash out)

I need to get on that survey sites review post…. I wrote them all down and I use like 15 of them. I’m insane :)
