Guest Post, a Carnival, and a Festival too!
~~Today I have a guest post at My Two Dollars about my participation in the Digging Out of Credit Card Debt Challenge. I talk about how hard it was to actually make myself call Capital One and request an interest rate decrease, but I actually did it, and it felt great (after)! Be sure to check it out!
~~This week for the first time, I participated in the Carnival of Money Stories hosted by FIRE Finance. I just found this carnival and really, most of what I write is stories about my experiences with money, so I thought it was a good fit for my posting style. I contributed my post about Teaching my three year old the value of two dollars. Some of the other posts I found really interesting included:
Are you falling into these 4 frugality traps? at Personal Finance Blog Articles, which plays right into my ever-ongoing dissertation on frugal vs cheap.
and
Changing times mean a change in money handling at Stop the Ride. I am basically the opposite, I used to be so good with cash and now I stink at having actual cash on me.
~~And finally, I participated in the 89th Festival of Frugality hosted by FILAM Personal Finance with my post Is my love of free samples an indication of frugality? Some of the other submissions that caught my eye are:
The Indispensible Budget at Keeping Feet. This is my favorite post of the whole festival, I love the ideas and thoughts towards budgeting as values presented here.
Buy local foods and reduce your carbon footprint at Queercents. This is something I am becoming more and more conscious of doing whenever possible. Even Walmart has local produce here
Green and Frugal at Unclaimed Money. I’m not what people call “fashionable” but if calling it that makes people want to be more green I am all for it.
and
Your Bottom Dollar - Diapers at SAHMmy Says. I love when people calculate out the cost per unit and use lots of numbers.
Hope you enjoy these posts as much as I did! Check out the Carnival and the Festival for yourself and also, be sure to take a peek at my guest post!
