I took the plunge

The blog has turned out to be more popular than I ever imagined.  Not that it is hugely popular or anything but I never realized I’d have actual consistent readers, so anything is amazing to me.  Thank you readers!  It is kind of bewildering to me, actually.

I’d like to be able to mess with the template more and stuff like that, so I took the plunge with a sweet online coupon and signed up for a year of dreamhost web hosting.  There goes the miscellaneous fund for this month and next month!  lol.  My spouse is totally on board and thinks it is a great idea.  I think he thinks I’m going to become some kind of blog empire.  I doubt it :).

I’m pretty computer-slow (sad that at one point in my life I was way ahead of the curve, computer-savvy wise, and now I am SERIOUSLY behind it) so it may take me weeks to figure out how to get everything up and running at the new site.  I’ll be monetizing the blog a little to defray the hosting costs, probably just adsense and feedburner stuff at first.  Once it is ready for prime time I’ll put the forwarding thing here into effect so everything is automatically redirected to the new site.  I do know how to do that.  I think I’ve already screwed some stuff up with the new domain lol so it may be a while.

Eventually I’ll be found at www.paidtwice.com but don’t hold your breath for when that might be :).

  1. I only recently found you, but by no surprise I can see why you have a following. I wish you luck with switching everything over and I look forward to the new and improved paidtwice.com

  2. I have read many blogs, many of them from people with “blog empires” - real or imagined empires anyways. I love your blog because you come across as very, very sincere and genuine. I applaud your efforts and wish you the best of luck - both with debt and with the new website. I am undergoing a similar challenge in my life, and I appreciate the feeling of company I get from reading your words. Keep it up!

  3. Congratulations! You have a great blog! I think you will do well, both with blogging and with your financial goals!

  4. hi! just wanted to let you know that i’m a consistent reader too but only since the last week or so now… i always check your blog when i’m at work. i like reading about how you try to keep motivated and how you’re working on your debts. it motivates me to keep my debts low. keep it up!

  5. Thanks to all of you! This has been both exciting and terrifying. And hey I only broke the blog once and had to start over installing the theme files…. so far.

My spouse convinced me to set up a subdomain to test things before I break more stuff so that won’t happen again. Happy reading and THANK YOU so much for your support!!
