Not only groceries, but diapers also plot to destroy my budget
Last month I bought some diaper coupons on ebay for both Pampers (which my son uses) and Especially For Baby (Babies R Us brand that my daughter uses) and bought what I thought was two months worth of diapers for each of them. Well, my son is in the midst of potty training (it is… slow, but that would be a story for a parenting blog) and has been using less diapers than I expected, so he is probably going to have diapers ’til September or maybe October (or maybe he’ll actually finish potty training… not holding my breath). But my daughter somehow is going through diapers way faster than I calculated and will be out of diapers by the end of the week.
I have $0 budgeted for diapers in August. Ah well.
So I’ll have to steal from September’s diaper budget I guess and hope my son keeps progressing with the potty training. Or try to find money somewhere else in the budget… and there are no more Especially for Baby diaper coupons on ebay. Bah. I should have bought another case. Those coupons were $7 off each case!
I just know the money is not coming out of groceries. That budget item is already screaming “Have mercy!”. lol. August is really starting to vex me. And it is only the 13th!
At least gasoline prices have been dropping.

I was very frustrated as well with potty training. When I was researching potty training a common theme seemed to be praise and positive reinforcement. I came across a website called www.pottytrainingrewards.com. We hung it in the kitchen and named the little boy on the front of the package, Bobby. My son could not wait to go to the potty so he could push the button, hear the praising message, and get his chocolate reward from, Bobby. It really got my son excited about using the potty himself and it was fun for him. Because he became so involved, potty training was easy. The $4.99 price for the Potty Training Reward chart sure did beat the price of diapers. So give it a try. Best of luck!
