I’ve Paid For This Twice Already…

From financial imprisonment to financial independence, one snowflake at a time. This is one family’s story.

August! :whew:

I made it to August without spending any more money.   So the budget numbers I posted on the 31st stand and the emergency fund will be increasing to slightly over $865 this month.  :cheer:  Now that it is August however, I need to go buy catfood and diet mountain dew  2-liters today… spending some of my precious grocery budget before I even go for my weekly shopping trip.  We’ll see how well I manage to stay under budget this week with a ~$65 budget instead of a $75 one.  Especially since I intend to stock up on the mountain dew if it is still on sale for $1/2-liter.

Well, stocking up should give me a weekly budget savings of $4 for every three I buy since they usually are $1.33 each and I buy 3 per week.  So, we’ll see.  I’ll tweak as necessary.  And an overall savings of $1/week, not too bad.  Every dollar does truly matter for the purpose of debt reduction.  :)
Now watch there only be one 2-liter for me to buy today now that I’ve psyched myself up for it.  ;)
I’m off to check on my ING accounts and look at all the interest posted :)
