Patience, grasshopper, patience
I’ve mentioned before that patience is not my strong suit.
My spouse’s biweekly paycheck was direct deposited in our account today. It shows as “available” in our account balance but is still marked “pending” on the actual online account register. I like to wait until it is processed completely before I spend it. Just in case. It generally only takes a single day to do so and if history is any indication will be marked as processed by tomorrow morning.
(Yes we are still in a position of living paycheck to paycheck. That’s a problem I’ll work on once we are out of debt. )
Generally this waiting is not an issue, because the bills I pay from this check are mostly due in the latter half of the month. But today I am crazy impatient and want to throw caution to the wind and just start lining up online payments. Why? Because I want to update all my debt total numbers and see how much progress we’ve made this month.
This proactive debt-reducing approach has actually made me look *forward* to paying my bills. Whoa! Who knew. What a concept.
I’m sure the numbers update can wait until Monday. I’m just so excited to see how low the total will go! Until Capital One posts my interest for the past month and we start all over again. Argh.
