I’ve Paid For This Twice Already…

From financial imprisonment to financial independence, one snowflake at a time. This is one family’s story.

I know you’ve been on pins and needles

waiting for what we decided about the diapers. Really! lol

Well, after looking at the budget, we’ve decided to use two months worth of diaper budget this month and buy 4 cases. We have in our budget an amount to save every month for my son’s preschool tuition, and the amount in the budget for July, August, and September all get paid out in September. So we are going to use part of the “school” budget item this month to pay for the extra diapers, and then divert the “diaper” budget item for next month all into the “school” budget item. Basically:

July: Diapers:$70, School:$40 (diverted to savings til September)

August: Diapers:$0, School:$110 (diverted to savings til September)

We’ll see if it ends up working out.

Ah, complexity. The joy of having a budget. I love it though. It makes me think. Thinking about your money before spending it is much better than just spending it and giving it a few passing thoughts later.

Now that we’ve got all this worked out, watch, I won’t win the coupon auction.  I’m still the only bidder but there’s an hour for someone else to decide they want to take it from me.  lol
