Selling textbooks

So I’ve been out of college and grad school for a while but I got the bright idea today of seeing if I could sell any of my old textbooks.

Well, I found one actually worth something!  The lowest price it is listed for is $71.95 on half.com or I could sell it to any number of online textbook-buyers for $35-40.  So I listed it on half.com for $69.95.  I am going to wait a month or so and if it doesn’t sell, I am going to sell it to the online textbook-buyer who will pay the most.

Or I may change my mind tomorrow and just pull the plug and sell it.  I am impatient sometimes :)
Excitement!!

  1. Have you heard of textbooks renting? The idea is to have a community of students in the school that exchange textbooks.
Each student buys one year worth of textbooks. When he/she doesn’t need these anymore, he loans them to other students who do, and he uses the money from that to rent the textbooks he needs.

I know (from my personnal experience) that it works, but you need to have a community of students that does it in your school.

    Hope this helps !

  2. Good stuff - Renting Textbooks is the new way to go - save money and the environment!
