I’ve Paid For This Twice Already…

From financial imprisonment to financial independence, one snowflake at a time. This is one family’s story.

I said no more $ til June 29th

But I was wrong. Yay!

Today in the mail I got a reimbursement check from my insurance company for towing my car out of a parking lot where I was hit. I was not even in the car! I was taking a taekwondo class. An idiot driving a moving van drove into my car. :ugh:

Well I had to spend my spouse’s “extra” paycheck that month that I had earmarked to create our emergency savings fund (he gets paid every other week, so two months of the year he gets three paychecks instead of two, and my budget is always based on two) to pay for the tow and my deductible, and I have replaced some of that money but not all yet. I will get both reimbursed eventually when my insurance company gets their money back from the person who hit me and/or the moving van company that rented the truck. And today I got the tow $!

So the reimbursement check will go into our savings account. Yay! But not til June 29th. I need that tiny cushion in the checking so I don’t have to transfer any money out of what is already in savings. :whew:

I am going to put 90% of it into savings and the other 10% snowflaked to the credit card. We do what we can.

I feel more mellow. :ohm:
