I’ve Paid For This Twice Already…

From financial imprisonment to financial independence, one snowflake at a time. This is one family’s story.

Welcome to my debt

I’ve created this blog to have a place to blather on about my debt reduction. Since November of 2003, I have not used a single credit card. Yet, I am still paying off my credit card, as well as an auto loan, two student loans (me and the spouse) and now, recently, a mortgage. Hence the title of the blog — I am sure whatever I bought with my Capital One card so long ago that still remains on my balance has long been paid twice for, maybe even three times. Sobering thought. Heh.

My goal at the moment is more humble than being debt free, it is simply to only have one debt - our mortgage. The other debts I have been slowly paying off for many many years now and since November 2003 as I said we have not used a credit card for anything at all but I have decided — now is the time to fight! I have for the past 3 months been much more aggressive in my payback strategy and have decided today to set some firm goals and become even more vigilant.

And my spouse I am sure is sick of listening to me tweak and tweak and tweak and TWEAK so I created the blog so I can ruminate to my heart’s content.

I am no expert and I give no advice except to myself. I have two adorable children who are worth every penny and more they have set the debt reduction back :). They are currently almost 3 years old and 7 months old.

Later more posts with a chart and more details and a plan and yadda yadda yadda yadda. :)
